These are special flowering shrubs and seem to like a warming climate. They grow quite big (in all directions) and need winter pruning and like water. They drop their leaves in the winter and flowers are big and attract butterflys to pollinate. Some people drink Hibiscus tea.
Grown from seed collected from a hardy outside tricolor plant (Mauve, Blue and White) - so flower color could be any one of these. Have been left outside in a southern English garden. Please fleece in the winter and prune late winter - when the seed pods are collected and water well in the summer.
Flowers mid to late summer when other plants are beginning to die back - so will extend color in your garden.
These plants are used to British weather in South UK.
If you dont want to plant into a border (which these plants would prefer) - please plant in a very large container on your patio and remember to prune.
The shrub will drop all its leaves in the autumn and leaves will regrow about April - May depending on watering and day length.
We repot every year while still in a pot.
